... but it’s my car hole, and it’s all that I really need. Insult it all you like, it fits two cars and some crap, which is all I can ask of it.
Bonus doggo being a creeper watching humans do human things.

Why would anyone insult it?

What’s wrong with it? It’s a much better garage than I’ve had for most of my life.

Garages are for parking lucky cars. Shop space is nice, but really only an added bonus.
Stared for doggo. They always like to watch.

It’s a lot cleaner than my carport.
Also it’s a garage and not a carport.

I apologize if I insulted you or your garage earlier. I was trying to make a joke about how some of us have it backward and think what most people use a garage for, parking and storage, is weird. In my failed effort to poke fun at myself I offended you and I’m sorry.

My neighbors use their garages to store junk instead of sticking their cars in them. I don’t get people that have garages and don’t use them for cars.
My car has only spent a couple nights outdoors since I bought it...

I’m still working on obtaining a car-hole so I’ll sit here in envy, thank you very much.

You have a point there. The walls even have wallboard, which is a little weird to me. However, insulation isn’t great for my garage and I’m trying to figure out some way to pump the heat out because it kind of acts like an oven. It’s always a balmy 75-85 degrees in there, even in the winter, because the furnace is in there and the windows on the door let heat in that has nowhere to escape to. I need like a blower fan to exhaust the heat...

I just moved out of my large car hole rental situation and back into the no-car-hole house I actually own...it is bittersweet, I’ll tell you.

I actually got it afterward because I re-read your original message. Still, garages are happy places, especially when they are used to store happy cars.

Carports are better than nothing, but those walls make a big difference, there’s no denying it.

Not having one is really hard after you’ve had one, that’s for sure.
Tell us more about this moving back to the house... Or save it for our next meet, but I am curious.

I start melting at like 80 and that’s a toasty garage! I’ve been like this my entire life, even when I lived in SoCal.
I’m sorry to hear of your suffering. Considering all the space there, it is a bit mind boggling that they have built any houses without garages in the last 90-100 years.

Newer houses have garages, but the people who built houses here sixty years ago (before houses had AC) were insane. I bought my house from the original owner who had the house built in 1958 and converted the carport into a room in the ‘80s (fuck me).

Clearly insane after deciding to move to Phoenix, living there at least 40 years, deciding to trade a carport for another room in their house after about 25 years (that many years would probably drive anyone crazy), etc. Who wants to do anything outside or keep a defenseless car in the searing heat of the valley? I can’t even fathom starting with a carport and thinking, “You know, searing my body daily is a small price to pay for adding an awkward room to my house.”.

At least you have cars in the car hole, unlike so many feckless drones around here who have $300 worth of yard sale rejects ruining the car hole, while 50K of material sits in the driveway.

Suffice it to say that the situation remains unresolved and complicated, but at least this simplifies all the needless logistical annoyances of maintaining two places.

At least your 2-car garage fits 2 cars.
